New Rules for Police Clearance Certificate Attestation for UAE March 2018

As per the latest March 2018 updates from our sources the UAE Embassy currently attests only the PCC issued by the Local Police Station where the candidate is currently staying in India. In addition, the PCC which is issued needs to have Contact Number and Email Id of the Local Police station to cross verify. Please note currently the UAE Embassy may not accept PCC issued by local Passport Office.

Q1: What is a Police Clearance Certificate?
Answer: PCC-Police Clearance Certificate is issued to Indian Passport holders in case they have applied for Residential Status, Employment or Long term visa or for immigration. PCC cannot be issued for people traveling abroad on Tourist Visa.

  • Old passport in original with self attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages such as ECR/Non ECR page and page of observation
  • If Address is changed then Proof of Present Address
  • Self attested copy of Employment Contract with overseas employer
  • If Visa Obtained then copy of valid visa together with official English translation when the visa isn’t in English.

Documents Required for Unskilled/Women Workers to obtain Police Clearance Certificate in India: Unskilled workers and women above age 30 seeking employment directly overseas without taking assistance from Authorized Recruitment Agents registered with Protectorate of Emigrants are required to submit copies of the following documents:

  • Old passport in original with self attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages such as ECR/Non ECR page and page of observation
  • Proof of Present Address
  • Employment contract from the overseas employer duly attested by the Indian Mission or Permission letter from the concerned Indian Mission/Post
  • Copy of valid visa together with Official English translation when the visa isn’t in English

Documents necessary for skilled/semi skilled workers to obtain Police Clearance Certificate in India :
Skilled/semiskilled workers who’ve entered into employment contract with the overseas employer via Recruiting Agents registered with Protectorate of Emigrants are required to submit copies of the following documents:

  • Old passport in original with self attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages such as ECR/Non ECR page and page of observation.
  • Proof of Present Address
  • Copies of First Work contract
  • Demand letter and a power of attorney from the overseas employer duly attested from the Recruiting Agent
  • Copy of valid registration certificate issued from Protectorate of Emigrants, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. Of India.

Documents necessary for Unskilled/Women workers to obtain Police Clearance Certificate in India: Unskilled/Women workers who’ve entered into employment contract with the overseas employer via Recruiting Agents registered with Protectorate of Emigrants are required to submit copies of the following documents:

  • Old passport in original with self attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages such as ECR/Non ECR page and page of observation.
  • Proof of Present Address
  • Copies of First Work contract
  • Demand letter and a power of attorney from the overseas employer duly attested from the Recruiting Agent
  • Copy of valid registration certificate issued from Protectorate of Emigrants, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. Of India.
  • In addition, these documents have to be duly attested by the concerned Indian Mission

  • Documentary proof of applying for Residential Status, Employment (Copy of Employment contract) or Long term visa or for immigration.

  • The application form may be downloaded from the internet site of the Indian Mission and filed with the supporting documents suggested.
  • To get a check-list of documents required, please check with the Indian Mission concerned through the website or in person.

On receipt of a PCC application along with required documents, the Indian Mission will forward the application to concerned Passport Issuing Authority (PIA) from India. The Mission will issue a PCC to the candidate on receipt of the status report from PIA for the same.
For overseas nationals, Police Clearance Certificate needs to be accessed from the District Police or the FRRO in the place of residence in India. Copies of such a certificate can be attested from the Indian Mission on the production of the first.
